As we finish off a terrific summer and harvest is in full swing, I am pleased to share with you some updates on our recent and upcoming events.
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Linked on the Links golf tournament held on August 10, 2023. It was a great day of networking and fun at the Weyburn Golf Course. Congratulations to team RE/MAX for shooting the best score of the day!
I would also like to thank all of the member organizations that sponsored a hole or provided a door prize. Also, a big thanks to Whitecap Resources for providing a terrific lunch for all 61 golfers. Your generous support made this event possible and a great success!
On September 13th, we hosted a Handshakes & Hashbrowns breakfast at the Weyburn Legion. Our guest speaker, Becky Cassidy from Women Building Futures, gave us insight on how we can fill the labour gaps in the trades industries. This program will be a benefit for Southeast Saskatchewan!
Secondly, I would like to invite you to join us for our upcoming events in September.
Here are some highlights:
On September 16, our Executive Director Monica Osborn and I will be travelling to Saskatoon with members from MegaDry Disaster Restoration Inc. to attend the ABEX Awards put on by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. MegaDry has been nominated for the Growth & Expansion Award as well as the New Venture Award. Ryan Sjkerdal is also nominated for the Young Entrepreneur Award. We are rooting for them to win these prestigious awards!
On September 28, there will be a Business Unwind event hosted by Whitecap Resources at their facility south of Weyburn beginning at 3:00pm. Barber Motors has generously donated the use of 2 shuttle vans leaving the chamber office at 2:30 and 3:30 pm. Please contact our office and register ahead if you would like a ride to this great event!
For more details and registration information for any of these events, please visit our website or follow us on Facebook and Instagram. You are also encouraged to phone us at 306-842-4738 or stop in to our office at 11 – 3rd Street NE in beautiful downtown Weyburn. We hope to see you at these events and hear from you soon.
Thank you for being a part of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce. Together, we can make Weyburn a better place to live, work, and do business.
Sincerely,
Stephen J. Schuck
