President’s Message – January 2023

Happy New Year!

2023 is here and the Weyburn Chamber is looking forward to a year filled with numerous networking opportunities, advocating on behalf of our business members, and to grow our partnerships.

As a recap of 2022, the Weyburn Chamber was excited to welcome a new Executive Director, Monica Osborn. Presentations of the Golden Spike Award was awarded to Rod Nieviadomy and the Golden Sheaf Award was awarded to Alan and Yvonne Whitrow. Both of whom are more than deserving of those respected awards. The Chamber continued to provide numerous networking events, such as Linked on the Links Golf Tournament, Handshakes & Hashbrowns as well as round table discussions on topics that affect our business members.

Looking into 2023, the Weyburn Chamber is proud to announce that the 10th WEYBEX Awards Gala will be held on April 28, 2023. Nominations are now open, and we encourage you to consider nominating a business that you fee deserving of recognition for the hard work that they do. All the nomination information, a list of past recipients and the full nomination packages can be found on the Weyburn Chamber website, http://www.weyburnchamber.com. There are 5 award categories: New and/or Expanded Business, Community Involvement, Golden Service, Business Leader, and Business Hall of Fame. Deadline for nominations is March 28, 2023.

The Weyburn Chamber will maintain lines of communication with all levels of government and will continue to advocate strongly for our businesses at each of these levels to help move our members forward. Our Chamber will continue to host business education events, along with general networking events like the golf tournament, parades, seminar and other celebrations. Please check our webpage and follow our Facebook page to stay up to date on all current Chamber events.

We encourage you to attend our events this upcoming year and provide any feedback by email to manager@weyburnchamber.com or feel free to stop into the Chamber office at 11 3rd St., Weyburn to say hello. This helps the board and staff make decisions for future events that we plan to host.
